Who I Am

Kimberly Newcombe, MA, LPC

I have always had a passion for being compassionate and empathetic to others’ feelings. When I went through my own battles with mental health, I found my calling as a therapist and have never looked back.

I offer a safe and validating space to process your emotions. My sessions are integrative in nature, meaning that they are tailored towards what approaches and theories will work best for you! I do not believe that there is a one size fits all therapeutic approach. I specialize in mood disorders, anxiety, perinatal mental health, and self esteem. I currently offer telehealth only sessions which allows me not only to be more flexible but to reach more people that are seeking out counseling.

If you feel like we may be a good match, please feel free to browse through my offered services and to contact me for a free 15 minute phone consultation!

What I Provide

Therapy session

Individual Therapy

The Attention You Always Deserved

I believe that every single human being has a bit of healing to do. Improving your self-awareness and finding a safe place to process through your experiences and emotions are only a few ways that individual therapy can be helpful. You need a place where you can be authentically and unapologetically yourself— a place where you can truly talk about how you feel with no judgement. Let me help you take away the shame and the guilt that sometimes come from opening up so that you can truly experience growth.

Maternal Mental Health and Wellness

Mamas Need Support!

Whether you are experiencing trouble with conceiving and infertility or are going through perinatal or postpartum mood and anxiety, you deserve a safe space to process. Unfortunately moms and moms-to-be are so often overlooked or treated unfairly when they try to be honest about their mental health. I have been in your shoes. I am a mama myself and have gone through this struggle. You don’t have to fight this battle alone. I will be here to support you and I will strive to have our sessions to be a safe space for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! I do currently accept health insurance. At this time, I am accepting Aetna, Optum, United, and Cigna health insurances. Health insurance can make therapy affordable however there are some benefits to utilizing my self pay option.

What are the benefits to being self pay as opposed to using my insurance?

When you utilize your health insurance for counseling purposes, insurance will need to have access to your medical records which include diagnosis, treatment plans and therapy notes. For privacy reasons, I have many clients who prefer to use self-pay so that they don’t have to share this information. Additional benefits include knowing exactly what the cost is per session and not having to be concerned over claims being denied.

What if you don’t accept my insurance?

If I don’t currently accept your insurance plan, there are a couple of options that we can explore. One of which is to be a self-pay client completely. The other option might be to pay out of pocket and at the end of each month, I can provide you with a super bill which you can then submit to your insurance for reimbursement purposes.

What are your current counseling rates?

Currently, I charge $125.00 for initial intakes as well as follow-up appointments. These will last between 50 and 60 minutes. I do offer 90 minute sessions which would have a rate of $180.00 per session.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Great question! You can send me an email at knewcombecounseling@gmail.com or utilize the “Get in Touch” portion of my website. We can book a no obligation phone consult or your initial appointment that way, whichever you’d prefer!

I’ve never had counseling before and I’m scared or anxious.

You are not alone! This is very often a universal feeling when beginning therapy. Those feelings are absolutely valid. We will work together to make sure you feel absolutely comfortable in our sessions and please know that you will not be pushed into speaking about anything you’re not comfortable with. Therapy truly is a journey and we will walk this one together.
